Families are at the very heart of the Habitat mission…

The ministry's mission is more than working with individuals to provide simple, affordable housing; it is more than teaching people how to lay tile or hammer a shingle. It is very much about trust and communication and education and caring.
The Family Services staff has the privilege of fostering the unique partnership required to be in the Habitat program. From the moment an application is processed to the exhilarating day when someone becomes a homeowner and moves into their new house, Family Services offers encouragement and guidance. This is often a long process full of obstacles that must be skillfully navigated.
Our families are diverse and exceptionally unique. The changing face of America is clearly reflected in culture, race, age, and parental status. There are intact families, single parents, disabled adults and children, as well as grandparents raising grandchildren, and seniors needing affordable housing. The one common thread that weaves them together in our program is the desire to build a future that is the commitment to work hard, and reach a dream called “homeownership”.
We are bound by our commitment to assist anyone seeking an opportunity for a hand up.
