Campus Chapters

Students flex their muscles ready to volunteer

Campus Chapters are student-run clubs that support a Habitat affiliate through volunteering, fundraising, education and advocacy. They help an affiliate reach a greater audience by spreading our mission through a college campus and student body.

Collegiate Challenge

College students pose in front of a home in the middle stages of construction.

Every year during spring, summer and winter breaks college students from across the country travel to Melbourne to help Habitat build simple, decent, affordable homes for low-income families in need. The volunteers are participants of Habitat for Humanity International's Collegiate Challenge, which is one of the country's largest alternative spring break programs and offers the opportunity for students to gain new skills, make new friends, and make a meaningful impact on the community.

Lunch Crew

Who's hungry? Lunch volunteers work with us to schedule a day when they can bring food and fixings for the hungry crews that work on our construction sites. Volunteers have done everything from grilling hot dogs at the site, to making lasagna, to purchasing a pizza or serving up sandwiches, chips and fruit. We provide a record of volunteer time and if the donor provides a receipt, a donation acknowledgement that can be used for tax purposes.

If you are scheduled for a lunch and are unable to bring it please let our Volunteer Coordinator know at least 24 hours in advance.
